The Executive Board, effective with the 2001 AVMA Annual Convention, has approved an important member service. On recommendation of the Convention Management and Program Committee, the AVMA will provide a complimentary CD-ROM of the convention notes for each primary registrant and exhibiting company.

In the past, convention attendees have had to pay a fee for convention notes, and producing the bound volume of notes resulted in an annual loss of revenue. The committee believes that the change will provide all attendees with needed information, have a positive effect on the overall convention budget, and enhance the convention experience.

Sponsorship for the production and distribution of the CD-ROM will be solicited.

Also approved for the 2001 convention is the inclusion of non-veterinarian members of allied organizations in the "Other" annual convention registration category, which will enable them to register at the same rate as AVMA members.

The Executive Board also approved increasing the standard annual convention speaker fee from $175 to $200, and the total hourly wet lab speaker reimbursement from $350 to $400. Both increases will take effect for the 2002 AVMA Annual Convention.
