LSU provides framework for annual art exhibition
Show off some skills from your right brain in the Fourteenth International Exhibition on Animals in Art, March 17-April 30, 2001 in the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine library. Sponsors are the veterinary school, Friends of the School of Veterinary Medicine, Pfizer Animal Health, and WALTHAM. Entries must be submitted by Jan 26, 2001. Artists 18 years or older may submit any type of original art featuring domestic and wild animals as subjects. Works accepted for exhibition will be chosen from two-by-two-inch, mounted, 35-mm slides. Each artist may submit a maximum of three entries. Three slides may be submitted to illustrate three-dimensional work, but only one slide should be submitted for two-dimensional work. Slides should be labeled with name, title, medium, and top (of artwork). Maximal size for entries is 60-by-60-by-48 inches, and those accepted must be received by March 6. Artwork that differs from the slide will be disqualified. An opening reception will be held March 17. Anne Price, art critic for The Advocate newspaper, Baton Rouge, La, is juror and judge. A $1,000 Best of Show Award and other cash awards will be conferred. One entry will be chosen to appear on the cover of the JAVMA.
