Nash new pharmacopeia veterinary director
Dr. C. David Nash Jr, Gallatin, Tenn, joined the US Pharmacopeia as director of its Veterinary Medicine Division. He will be responsible for providing professional and scientific leadership to the veterinary medical program, working collaboratively on standards development, and broadening the USP's influence within the community of veterinary practitioners.
Last year Dr. Nash was a private consultant for pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors. From 1987-1998, he held positions with Hoechst-Rousell Vet. There, he was responsible for protocol review, and drug quality assurance, and was liaison to the FDA, Environmental Protection Agency, USDA, and state regulatory agencies. In 1993, Dr. Nash was project team leader for development of a new therapeutic antibiotic, requiring international coordination with Germany, France, and Canada. As senior professional services veterinarian, he provided technical support for clinical field studies of veterinary medical products and associated devices. Prior to joining Hoechst-Rousell Vet, Dr. Nash supervised animal health programs for livestock at feedlots, ranches, and a dairy farm.
