Practitioners who use schedule II, III, IV, or V drugs are reminded it is their obligation to conduct a biennial inventory of controlled substances and complete necessary Drug Enforcement Administration forms.

Veterinarians ordering schedule II drugs must complete Federal Triplicate Order Forms. For schedule III, IV, and V drugs, a logbook should be kept or supplier's invoice filed. Information must be retained for at least a two-year period. For details, contact the Drug Enforcement Administration, Liaison and Policy Section, Office of Diversion Control, Washington, DC 20537; or phone, (202) 307-7297.
