2018 Veterinary Leadership Conference Call for Programs

The AVMA is accepting program proposals for presentation at its 2018 Veterinary Leadership Conference (VLC) in Chicago, Illinois on January 4-6, 2018.

The AVMA's VLC offers workshops designed to enhance current and established leaders in the veterinary medical field. This is a significant opportunity to share your knowledge with the veterinary leadership community.

Topic areas include:
  • Association Management
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Health and Wellness
  • Leadership Development
  • Legal
  • Professional Development
  • Technology
  • Volunteer Management
  • Other Volunteer Leadership Development
Presentation formats:
  • Keynote Session: 90-minute program delivered on stage to all conference attendees (up to 600 attendees)
  • Workshop: 90-minute breakout session (up to 100 attendees)
NO​TE: The VLCPC will be selecting only one submission for its Keynote Session. Multiple submissions will be selected for workshops (between 10 and 20 depending on the size of the education program).

Key Dates
  • Call for VLC Programs Opens: Wednesday, February 22
  • Call for VLC Programs Closes: Sunday, April 16, 11:59 PM CST
  • VLC Planning Committee Reviews Submitted Programs: Mid- to late-June
  • Final Selection and Notification to Submitters/Speakers: Mid- to late-August
Helpful Information
  • You do not need to be a member of AVMA to submit a program.
  • There is no cost for submitting a program.
  • All programs submitted via the official site will be reviewed by the AVMA VLC Planning Committee.
  • So that the AVMA VLC Planning Committee can make an informed decision, please ensure you have submitted all the required information. Entering 'TBD' in any of the required fields puts your program at risk of not being accepted. Wait to submit your program until you have all the required information.
