When veterinarians and practice managers need reliable data and information to inform smart decisions, AVMA is here for you. From benchmark data to guide your business to authoritative policy written by trusted experts, AVMA is a trusted ally providing resources and tools you need everyday.
As an AVMA member, the credit is all yours. Not only do AVMA members guide the Association’s priorities and decision-making. You provide the data that the AVMA’s analysts report back to you – by taking time to participate in AVMA surveys.
The impact of participating
As an example, consider the AVMA’s annual Practice Owners Survey, which will open early in 2023. By asking a representative number of practice owners to provide anonymous information through the survey, the AVMA is able to gather data that can guide a wide range of decisions that you and your colleagues need to make. This one survey collects information that will be used in all of these ways:
- Identify gaps in demand and supply for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
- Assess performance of individual practices.
- Analyze our profession’s ability to meet the demand for animal healthcare services.
- Define drivers of performance.
- Create comprehensive views of the characteristics of practices and their owners.
The results will provide data-driven insights to practice owners and policymakers, will be reported in the annual AVMA Report on the Economic State of the Veterinary Profession, and will be shared with veterinary leaders at the AVMA Veterinary Business and Economic Forum.
Will you help?
In the first quarter of the new year you may be selected to participate in the 2023 Practice Owners Survey.
While there’s always a time commitment involved in survey participation, the return for your investment is enormous. Your involvement will help your colleagues at the AVMA provide information that will be invaluable to your own practice and others.
Your input is vital. A limited number of members are asked to respond to each survey, so your answers carry extra weight. Check your email in mid-January to see if you’ve been asked to participate in the Practice Owners Survey.
