Wins for the veterinary profession: Capitol Hill update

Capitol building: Empowering the veterinary profession

Legislation being considered in Washington includes measures that would expand student debt relief, enhance retirement options for veterinary teams, and support rural access to veterinary care. These initiatives are moving forward in Congress with the help of veterinarians and the AVMA.

In addition to ensuring that veterinary perspectives are heard and considered in our nation's capital, the AVMA also is committed to keeping the veterinary community informed about public policy that impacts our profession.

A new video, available on AVMA's YouTube channel, provides examples of some of the recent action in Washington that affects veterinarians and our teams. Watch it for a quick update on issues that matter to our profession.

If you'd like to receive regular updates about legislative actions in Washington, subscribe to receive the AVMA Advocate newsletter. It's one of many newsletters options the AVMA offers to help keep veterinary professionals informed.

Learn how you can get more involved in veterinary advocacy through the Congressional Advocacy Network, at avma.org/AVMACAN.
