The scholarships are awarded each year to recent graduates/emerging leaders (individuals graduating from veterinary school within the past 15 years) as well as veterinarians from demographic, geographic, or socioeconomic groups or practice types that are under-represented in U.S. veterinary leadership. At the AVMA’s annual Veterinary Leadership Conference in Chicago, the recipients are able to develop their leadership skills, learn about team building, network with colleagues, and discover how the AVMA works both with and for our members.

Why attend VLC?

Registration is still open for the Veterinary Leadership Conference, which will be held Jan. 12-14, 2017. The conference offers both workshops and networking opportunities designed specifically to help veterinarians and other veterinary professionals cultivate leadership and team-building skills, and get to know a diverse group of colleagues.

Leadership sessions and networking events provide a foundation for attendees to contribute to and shape the veterinary profession, and to develop skills that can be used in other professional and personal pursuits. In addition, attendees can receive continuing education (CE) credit for attending selected sessions. For more information and to register, visit
