Are you a student or recent graduate who’s interested in helping develop solutions to ease the burden of student loan debt for veterinarians? The AVMA, Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges and Michigan State University are offering travel grant scholarships to help you participate in the Fix the Debt Summit to be held April 20-22 at Michigan State.Fix the debt...Our Future, Our Responsibility

Travel grants are available for 10 students and 10 recent graduates. The application period has just opened, and applications will be accepted through Feb. 24. Fill out the application and submit it, including a current resume, electronically to Dr. Caroline Cantner at ccantneratavma [dot] org. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee chosen by Michigan State University, AAVMC and AVMA. Grant recipients will be announced March 4.

The Fix the Debt Summit will bring together some 150 students, recent graduates and economic experts to tackle student debt and other financial issues that impact young veterinary professionals. The recommendations developed at the summit will be directed to the veterinary colleges, the AVMA, and other organizations to address, as “JAVMA News” reported last November.

The voices of students and recent graduates are critically important as we work to find solutions to student debt and related financial issues. These travel scholarships will help ensure that your voices are heard.
