Applications due June 29

Continuing education to enhance teaching is vital for educators who prepare the veterinarians of tomorrow.  The AVMA’s Veterinary Educator Professional Development Grant program promotes skill building among academic instructors by providing funding for on-site professional development for veterinarians and veterinary staff teaching at veterinary colleges represented in the Student AVMA House of Delegates.

The application period for the 2018 AVMA Veterinary Educator Professional Development Grant is currently open and closes on June 29, 2018. Each grant provides up to $1,000 for on-site professional development. Past grants have supported training programs addressing such areas as faculty mentorship, clinical communication, and leadership development.

Grant recipients will be selected by a committee of faculty advisers, with priority given to professional development in the areas of communication training, leadership development, wellness or mental health training, financial or business skills training, and diversity training. A total of $14,000 in grant funding is available.
