Partners for Healthy PetsYou know the value that preventive care brings to your patients, but perhaps you’re not certain how you can focus your efforts to deliver the best preventive care possible. The AVMA and the American Animal Hospital Association collaborated to develop the AAHA-AVMA Canine and Feline Preventive Care Guidelines to provide a foundation for your practice’s wellness and preventive care focus.

Implementing the guidelines is simple, using a free resource provided by Partners for Healthy Pets. It starts with a webinar titled “Focus your clinic on preventive pet healthcare,” which provides an overview of why and how to inspire your team to improve preventive care and client communication in your practice. You’ll also benefit from the “10 steps to success” document, which helps you organize your approach to wellness and preventive care. Both of these tools – plus other materials – can be found on the Partners’ guidelines implementation page.

If you’re participating in the free PHP certificate program, these materials make up one section of the program, and completing this step keeps you on track. Partners for Healthy Pets also has additional resources to help your practice, such as the forward-booking tool and the Opportunity Survey.
