Nominations sought for 30th annual Bustad Companion Animal Veterinarian of the Year Award

nickB_150504_0240Nominations are currently being accepted for the 30th annual Bustad Companion Animal Veterinarian of the Year Award. The award, co-sponsored by the AVMA, American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) and Pet Partners, recognizes the outstanding work of veterinarians in preserving and protecting human-animal relationships.

Nominees must be graduate veterinarians, AVMA members and have demonstrated accomplishments in the areas of practice, community service, teaching or research.

The deadline for submitting nominations is Oct. 15, 2015.

The recipient will be chosen by a panel of six judges: two from the AVMA, one from the AVMF and three from Pet Partners.

The award was named for the late Leo K. Bustad, D.V.M., Ph.D., a pioneer in human-animal interactions who served as dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University and was a founding member of Pet Partners.
