In-person event lets you explore varied career paths
Are you curious to learn what a career in academia or government might be like? Thinking about making a change from private to corporate practice, or vice versa? Do you wonder what sort of veterinary job opportunities are available? You’ll have a chance to answer these and other career-related questions at a brand-new, free event hosted by the AVMA Veterinary Career Center (VCC) during AVMA Convention 2019.
The VCC Mix & Mingle offers an interactive opportunity for employers, job seekers, and potential job seekers to build new relationships in a laid-back environment. It’s part job fair, part networking event, part discovery experience, and wholly unique. Open exclusively to AVMA Convention attendees, you’ll have a chance to talk with representatives from many different areas of the veterinary profession and hear firsthand what a career in their field can mean for you. Learn about specific roles they’re looking to fill, the types of opportunities their sector can offer, and what working for their organization would be like.
The Mix & Mingle will take place Friday, August 2, 5:30 - 7:00 pm at the Marriott Marquis Washington, D.C. You’ll enjoy free hors d'oeuvres and drinks as you explore possible next steps on your veterinary journey.
And you won’t be doing it alone. The VCC wants to help you put your best foot forward, so we’ll be providing preparatory resources and materials for both employers and job seekers ahead of the event.
Current and potential jobseekers can register right now by completing this form. Interested employers can get information about attending the event by emailing conventionavma [dot] org.
