Dr. Mike Dicks, Director of the AVMA Economics Division, and Dr. Caroline Cantner, AVMA Assistant Director for Student Initiatives, will present a two-part series, “Using Economics to Plan for Your Financial Future: Debt and Income.” Their presentations will provide students with the most recent data and research on veterinary education debt and salaries, as well as tools to help students plan for a successful financial future.

Parts and one and two of this talk will be held Friday, March 18, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Benton Auditorium, located on the first floor of the Scheman Building. There will be a break for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

In addition, AVMA Economist Dr. Bridgette Bain will be in the AVMA Booth on Friday, March 18, from 9-10 a.m. and 3-4 p.m., and Saturday, March 19 from 9-10 a.m. for “Ask the Economist” sessions with students. How much can you earn as a new graduate? Is practice ownership right for you? How should you budget for your expenses now and after graduation? Ask questions and get answers from Dr. Bain.
