Halloween can be both scary and hazardous for pets. The AVMA issued a press release Monday reminding pet owners about Halloween hazards, and AVMA members can take advantage of a free client handout with Halloween tips to help spread the word.

If you’re looking for Halloween safety information to share with your clients, look no further than the AVMA’s Halloween safety page: avma.org/Halloween.

It includes advice about pet identification, the dangers of Halloween candy, safety tips related to Halloween decorations, and more. Social media can be a great way to share actionable advice like this with clients, so you can use these tips and the ones in the press release between now and Halloween.

For AVMA members, there’s also a ready-to-share Halloween safety flyer that you can download and share in emails or post in your exam rooms. It’s available in both color and black-and-white for easy printing.
