Free access to JAVMA: A new student perk

Now JAVMA is Free for SAVMA Members Access Online and App Versions TodayStudent AVMA (SAVMA) members can now read the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA) for free, either online or through the popular JAVMA mobile app.

Students can simply sign in to the app with their SAVMA ID and password, or register online at, to get free access to all of JAVMA’s clinical research, feature articles and other important veterinary content. SAVMA members who want to receive the print version of JAVMA may subscribe at a significant discount rate of $40 per year.

Veterinary students work hard to turn their dreams into promising careers, and the AVMA is committed to supporting them. Timely access to scientific developments and other veterinary news is as important for students as for practicing veterinarians, and that motivated the AVMA Board of Directors to approve this new student benefit.

On-the-go access through the JAVMA mobile app will be particularly valuable to busy students. The app allows subscribers to read JAVMA from an iPhone, iPad, or Android mobile device. Useful app functions include:

  • Pinch-to-zoom functionality to view text and images in greater detail
  • Full-text and archival search capabilities
  • Note taking, note syncing and bookmarking pages
