Dr. Richard Sullivan of California has won the AVMA Board of Directors election for District 10 and will begin serving AVMA members in California, Hawaii, and Nevada this summer. Dr. Leianne Lee Loy, from Hawaii, also ran as a candidate in District 10.
Dr. Sullivan will join Dr. Sam Miller as the newest members of the AVMA Board. Dr. Miller, from Texas, ran unopposed to represent District 8 and was declared elected in February. He will serve AVMA members in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas.
Drs. Sullivan and Miller will begin their six-year terms during the 2021 AVMA Convention, which opens on July 29.
Dr. Sullivan succeeds Dr. George Bishop of California, and Dr. Miller succeeds Dr. Lori Teller of Texas.
