Comments sought: Educational criteria for technicians
The AVMA Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) is considering changes to three educational standards and accepting public comment on the proposed edits through March 1, 2021.
Changes to the following standards are under consideration:
- Standard 1 - Institutional Accreditation
- Standard 2 – Finances
- Standard 3 - Organization and Communications
To submit comment on the proposed changes, complete and submit this survey to the CVTEA.
CVTEA is the educational accrediting body for veterinary technology programs in the United States. Changes to the three standards were proposed as part of the CVTEA’s regular, cyclical review of all educational standards, required species and equipment, and essential and recommended skills. The CVTEA also is reviewing and seeking comment on parts of two appendixes – Appendix H (species section only) and Appendix I (sections 1, 4, 7 only) – but has proposed no changes at this time.
