Mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 23, 2021, to join AVMA President Dr. Douglas Kratt in a live chat about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the veterinary profession.
Dr. Kratt will be joined by special guests Dr. Ruby Perry and Dr. Christine Jenkins, the co-chairs of the new Commission for a Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive Veterinary Profession. Dr. Perry is the first female to serve as dean of the Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Jenkins is U.S. chief medical officer and vice president of veterinary medical services and outcomes research, U.S. operations, at Zoetis.
You’ll hear about our collective effort to enhance DEI in veterinary medicine, including what’s driving this work, the progress made so far, and what the future holds related to this critical issue. And you’ll have a chance to contribute your own thoughts and ask questions about this important work.
The chat is part of the AVMA’s Black History Month celebration and is open to all AVMA and SAVMA members, as well as the entire veterinary community. It kicks off at 2:30 p.m. Central Time on February 23. Register in advance to reserve your seat.
