Call for volunteers: AVMA COE seeks new members
Applications are now open for four volunteer positions on the AVMA Council on Education® (AVMA COE®).
Interested veterinarians have until March 15, 2024, to submit applications to serve on the COE representing these groups:
- AVMA members at large
- Private clinical practitioners
- Private food animal practitioners
- Non-private, non-academic position
New members will be chosen by the AVMA COE® Selection Committee from among the applicants. Three of the positions have terms running from August 2024 until July 2030. The non-private, non-academic position will fill an unexpired term ending in July 2027.
The AVMA COE® is recognized as the accrediting body for schools that offer the professional DVM degree or its equivalent in the United States and Canada. The council also accredits other foreign programs.
Accreditation marks the highest standard of achievement for veterinary medical education. COE-accredited colleges confirm their commitment to quality and continuous improvement through a rigorous and comprehensive peer review.
