Are you a veterinarian who is looking to expand your leadership role within the veterinary profession? If you graduated from veterinary school within the last 15 years, the AVMA Future Leaders Program is looking for you.

The Future Leaders Program is a unique leadership-development opportunity that helps emerging veterinary leaders cultivate and hone leadership skills to build a foundation for the advancement of our profession. Each year, up to 10 early-career veterinarians are selected to take part in the program, which combines team-building projects and exercises, personal assessments, and other skill-building activities, all under the guidance of a professional facilitator.

During the yearlong journey, participants also foster individual relationships with one another, as well as with AVMA’s volunteer leaders and other prominent veterinarians who serve as leadership advisors.

Applications for the 2017-2018 Future Leaders Program are due Feb. 24. If you are an AVMA member who graduated from veterinary school within the last 15 years, and are ready to take the next step in building your leadership skills, we strongly encourage you to consider applying to become an AVMA Future Leader. This program can permanently alter your career trajectory, helping you move to a new level of veterinary leadership.
