AVMA members interested in attending the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) Congress in Toronto this July can take advantage of a discounted registration rate as a benefit of your AVMA membership.

For the next three weeks only, until June 11, WSAVA officials are offering a special registration rate of $580 U.S., exclusively to AVMA members. This is a significant discount from the standard cost of $979, and equivalent to the super early bird rate that expired in October 2018. AVMA members enjoy this discount because the AVMA is a member association of WSAVA.

Several AVMA leaders will be attending the WSAVA Congress, to be held July 16 – 19 in Toronto, including AVMA President Dr. John de Jong and Dr. Julie Stafford, the AVMA’s official liaison to WSAVA.

In addition, two AVMA members will be recognized with awards during the meeting. Dr. Cyndie Courtney will be honored with the 2019 Hills Next Generation Veterinarian Award, and Dr. Melissa Bain will receive the WSAVA Companion Animal Welfare Award. Dr. Courtney was a member of the AVMA’s 2015-16 class of Future Leaders, and Dr. Bain is a previous winner of the AVMA’s Bustad Companion Animal Veterinarian of the Year Award.

This year’s WSAVA Congress is being hosted by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and held in conjunction with the CVMA’s annual meeting. To take advantage of the special AVMA registration rate, simply email msmithatkenes [dot] com (WSAVA officials) no later than June 11, 2019.
