AVMA COE welcomes input on the standards of accreditation

An educational building in the sun

The AVMA Council on Education® (COE) is beginning the process of reviewing its standards of accreditation—and your input is welcome.

Every four years the AVMA COE assesses the standards of accreditation—as a whole—for ease and consistency of their interpretation, and for the level of contribution of each standard to the preparation of graduates. This is in addition to the COE’s regular in-depth review of three or four standards of accreditation annually.

The full set of standards is currently under review. We invite the veterinary community to participate in a survey to have your input heard during the review process. The deadline for submitting the survey is December 31, 2022.

Take survey

In addition to this condensed survey, a longer survey asking for in-depth feedback about each component of the standards has been sent to a statistical sample of veterinarians and veterinary students.

Thank you in advance to all who complete one of the surveys.
