AVMA-CAN advocates for key legislation at NAVC

AVMA’s Congressional Advocacy Network (AVMA-CAN) met with AVMA members in Florida at the North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC) in Orlando Jan. 17-20.

The AVMA Governmental Relations Division staff was on hand to speak with members about the association’s legislative agenda and its priorities for the 114th Congress. AVMA members could also sign up for the AVMA-CAN and send letters to their members of Congress on the issues facing the profession.

Attendees also had the chance to take home AVMA’s new "sample ballot,” a quick and easy guide to help busy conference-goers understand the current legislation impacting veterinary medicine, including:

Even if you didn’t attend NAVC this year, you can still stay involved. Make sure you visit the AVMA-CAN Government Action Center online and track how your legislators are voting and how issues of concern are developing.
