Announcing reduced membership dues for interns and residents
Supporting our colleagues in full-time educational programs
Advanced education and academia are integral to veterinary medicine and the success of our profession. Being enrolled in a full-time educational program doesn’t just take time, commitment, and hard work. It also can come with financial challenges—especially for veterinarians in the early stages of their career.
That’s why AVMA is excited to announce a new reduction in annual dues for members pursuing a full-time program of graduate study, postgraduate study, internship, or residency. Starting with 2025, membership dues for this group are now just $92.
The benefits that come with AVMA membership—including access to practical tools and resources that position veterinarians for success at every stage of their career—are central to AVMA’s work to protect, promote, and advance the veterinary profession. This dues reduction reflects AVMA’s commitment to making membership accessible for everyone in our professional community.
How to receive reduced dues
Whether you’re a veterinarian joining the AVMA for the first time, or renewing your annual membership, the process to receive reduced dues is easy. The first question you’ll be asked on the online membership form is whether you’re enrolled in a full-time educational program. Simply follow the prompts and the discount will be automatically applied to your invoice.
If you are submitting your membership application via mail, you’ll need to complete this reduced dues application.
