Her journey in organized veterinary medicine began in 1995 as the national SAVMA president. Her volunteer services have been diverse, giving her a broad range of experiences. She has served as treasurer of the Chicago VMA and chair of the Illinois State VMA Political Action Committee, Education Committee, and Student Engagement Committee.
During her time on the House Advisory Committee, Dr. Faeh was instrumental in the development of the Veterinary Information Forum, and as AVMA vice president she founded the Online Educator Community. She also served as chair of the AVMA’s Working Group on Membership Engagement.
Dr. Faeh formerly was part-owner of four small-animal clinics in the Chicago suburbs for more than 20 years. This provided her with insight into the daily challenges faced by practicing veterinarians both physically and mentally. She now seeks to assist young veterinarians with all aspects of their careers in her role as a veterinary mentor. Dr. Faeh currently serves as chief veterinary officer for National Veterinary Associates, where she is helping the organization build a clinical mentorship program.
Dr. Faeh is a 1996 veterinary graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She and her husband, Marshall Butler, are the proud parents of three sons: Pierce, Aidan, and Alex.
