James M. Weber, Jr., DVM

Dr. James (Jim) Weber graduated with a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 1980. He practiced for several years in both small and mixed animal practices, and also served as a veterinary medical officer with the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service.
In addition to his veterinary medical degree, he holds a master of business administration degree from Northern Kentucky University. He has managed and co-owned a farm, including raising beef cattle.
Dr. Weber represented Kentucky in the AVMA House of Delegates for 21 years (2001-2022). He also served on the AVMA State Advocacy Committee for seven years and as an alternate on the Legislative Advisory Committee for three years.
He has been actively involved with the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA), serving on its executive board for over 29 years and serving a term as president. He chaired the KVMA Public Relations Committee and Governmental Relations Committee, participated on numerous task forces, and represented the KVMA for several years on the Kentucky Agricultural Council. He has met with members of the Kentucky General Assembly and testified before legislative committees on various topics related to veterinary medicine. In 2009 he received the KVMA Distinguished Service Award.
Dr. Weber first became interested in organized veterinary medicine through his participation in his local association, where he served as both secretary and vice-president. He also served on a veterinary advisory committee to local animal shelters.
He has been married to Dr. Linda S. Weber for more than 40 years. He lives in Alexandria, Kentucky.
