ECFVG News Alert - November 2013

Changes to the English Language Requirement (Step 2) Policy
All candidates who enroll in the ECFVG program on or after January 1, 2014 will be required to pass all sections of the English language examinations (iB-TOEFL, IELTS, or CAEL) in a single examination administration. Section scores from separate iB-TOEFL, IELTS, or CAEL exam administrations conducted over a two-year period will no longer be accepted towards fulfillment of the English language requirement. This new policy is outlined in the ECFVG Policies and Procedures.

Candidates who are currently enrolled but have not completed the English language requirement and those candidates who will enroll through December 31, 2013, will have until June 30, 2014, to complete the English language requirement under the old policy. However, starting on July 1, 2014, all ECFVG candidates who have not completed the English language requirement, irrespective of date on which they enrolled in the program, must fulfill Step 2 requirement according to the new policy.

Further information regarding the ECFVG policy for the English language requirement can be found in the ECFVG Policies and Procedures.

Step 3 Requirement Change
All candidates who enroll in the ECFVG program on or after January 1, 2014, must pass the Basic and Clinical Sciences Examination (BCSE) to satisfy the requirements of Step 3 of the ECFVG program. Those candidates who are enrolled in the ECFVG program prior to January 1, 2014, and have successfully completed the NAVLE during or prior to the April 2007 administration or the NBE and CCT prior to year 2000, can have those original score reports submitted directly from the Veterinary Information Verifying Agency (VIVA) of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) for completion of Step 3 of the ECFVG program.
