This news round-up features recent developments and current events from schools accredited by the COE.

Colorado State University
CSU has opened the new E. Myrl Halstead Jensen Center for Emergency and Critical Care at its James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The new $1.3 million facility expands the hospital’s emergency and critical care unit by 70% and allows for the care of more than 4,000 sick and injured pets each year.

University of Minnesota
The University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and Chaing Mai University in Thailand have launched a two-year, veterinary education twinning project under the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) Veterinary Twinning Project. Twinning is an approach that enables peer-to-peer exchange of knowledge, ideas and experience between two universities. It is part of a wider OIE initiative to improve the capacity of veterinary services in developing countries.

The Minnesota-Thailand twinning project aims to ensure that graduates meet OIE recommendations on the competencies of graduating veterinarians and comply with OIE international recommendations.
