Established in 1955 by the Council on Research, the AVMA Practitioner Research Award is given annually to a veterinarian in recognition of his or her achievements in research that have advanced the veterinary profession. It is presented to an active AVMA member whose research activity and contributions were conducted and published while engaged in private veterinary practice. The honoree will receive $2,500 and a crystal award, which will be presented at the Merial NIH National Veterinary Scholars Symposium.
Nominations should be mailed to the "AVMA Practitioner Research Award", AVMF, 1931 N. Meacham Rd., Suite 100, Schaumburg, IL 60173 for receipt no later than the deadline date specified above. The AVMA Council on Research will review nominations and select the honoree at its spring meeting. Award winners will be honored at the Merial NIH National Veterinary Scholars Symposium.
