AVMA is the founding educational partner for a new online certification program that will help you and your veterinary team better support the human-animal bond. The curriculum is just one facet of our organizational partnership with the nonprofit Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI), which also joined with the North American Veterinary Community for this project.
New resources created by the AVMA will support you in complying with opioid reporting requirements, understanding continuing education needs, and preventing drug diversion. We continue to develop new tools while also working with federal regulators, drug manufacturers and drug distributors to advocate for the needs of veterinarians and our patients.
A working group has drafted possible revisions to the AVMA Model Veterinary Practice Act and is seeking comments on the proposal through March 25. This policy is used as a primary resource during the writing and review of veterinary practice acts across the United States, and it also includes the AVMA’s definition of the Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship. Your comments will help inform a policy that directly impacts the daily practice of veterinary medicine.
Ballots will be cast throughout the month of March to fill two seats on the AVMA Board of Directors. Three candidates are seeking to represent District 7, and two candidates are on the ballot for District 9.
