(SCHAUMBURG, Illinois) April 11, 2017—Two new members have been elected to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Board of Directors. Dr. Michael Q. Bailey, a board–certified veterinary radiologist and project manager for IDEXX Laboratories, Inc., will serve as the District 2 representative, and Dr. Ronald E. Gill, a mixed animal practitioner, will serve as the District 6 representative.
District 2 includes AVMA members living in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. District 6 includes AVMA members in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.
Bailey and Gill will begin their respective six-year terms in July at AVMA Convention 2017 in Indianapolis. Bailey will succeed outgoing District 2 Director Dr. Mark Helfat, and Gill will replace Dr. Chet Rawson in District 6. Both Helfat and Rawson are completing their terms on the AVMA Board.
