Dr. Barry Kellogg
VMAT-1 Team Leader
PO Box 45
West Dennis, MA 02670
Dear Dr. Kellogg:
On behalf of the American Veterinary Medical Association, I wish to extend to you our appreciation for all of the tireless work performed by you and your team of volunteers from Veterinary Medical Assistance Team-1.
The AVMA is aware that VMAT-1 was activated shortly after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in downtown New York, and that you were the first VMAT Team Leader to serve on the Management Support Team for the United States Public Health Service.
We commend you and VMAT-1 on a job well done. We are proud to support the Veterinary Medical Assistance Team program and other veterinary disaster preparedness and relief activities, and look forward to strengthening our relationship in the years to come.
Through your never-ending efforts, we were kept apprised of the activities taking place near ground zero and received very favorable reports regarding the work done by VMAT-1. Over the years the VMAT program has grown and flourished. VMAT would not be where it is today if it were not for the hard work and dedication of volunteers like you and your VMAT-1 team members.
Thank you for your dedication to the VMAT program, your patients, your colleagues, and your country.
Bruce W. Little, DVM
Executive Vice President
