 Artists sought for annual LSU exhibition

Kool Kat"Kool Kat," acrylic work by Don Roth of Garden Grove, Calif., received the School of Veterinary Medicine Award at the 2001 Animals in Art exhibit.

Artistic ability and animal adoration will go hand in hand at the Fifteenth International Exhibition on Animals in Art, March 16–April 14, 2002 in the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine library. Sponsors are the veterinary school, LSU, Friends of the School of Veterinary Medicine, Pfizer Animal Health, and The Iams Company.

Persons 18 and older are eligible to submit original artworks of all media.

Selection of works to be accepted will be chosen from two-by-two-inch, mounted, 35-mm slides. A maximum of three entries per artist may be submitted.

The deadline for entries is Jan. 25, 2002, and deadline for receipt of accepted entries is March 6, 2002. A nonrefundable fee of $10 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry must accompany the entry form.

Juror and judge Mary Ann Caffery, artist and owner of Caffery Gallery, Baton Rouge, La., will select winners of the $1,000 Best of Show award, as well as other cash awards. One entry will be chosen to appear on the cover of the JAVMA.
