Mastitis papers sought for Vancouver

The AABP and the National Mastitis Council invite persons interested in presenting a paper or poster at the Second International Symposium on Mastitis and Milk Quality to submit an abstract for consideration by the program committee.

The symposium will be held Sept 13-15, 2001 in Vancouver, British Columbia in conjunction with the AABP's 34th annual conference. The Society for Theriogenology will also meet at that time.

The last time the AABP and NMC joined for a meeting was in September 1990 in Indianapolis for the first International Symposium on Bovine Mastitis.

Abstracts should pertain to one of the following areas:

  • resistance mechanisms, immunology, and vaccination
  • epidemiology/economics
  • diagnostics and monitoring of mastitis
  • therapeutics and pharmacokinetics
  • advances in milking systems and mechanization
  • prevention and management strategies
  • impact of new technologies on mastitis control
  • case histories

Prospective presenters must submit one-page abstracts written in English by Nov 30, 2000. Abstracts must be submitted electronically through the NMC Web site, www.nmconline.org. Authors will be notified of acceptance as an oral or poster presentation by Jan 1, 2001.
