Bayer promotes Payne

John B. Payne has been named senior vice president and head of the animal health business for Bayer Corporation's Agriculture Division. Previously he was vice president of marketing and sales for the division's animal health business group.

In his new position, Payne assumes responsibility for Bayer's animal health business activities in the United States. He will report to Emil Lansu, president of Bayer Corporation's Kansas City-based Agriculture Division.

Payne serves on the boards of the American Veterinary Medical Foundation and the Animal Health Institute. Last year he received the AVMA President's Award from Dr. Richard C. Swanson in recognition of his contributions to veterinary medicine during his 25 years in the animal health industry. Payne joined Bayer's Agriculture Division in 1990.
