Veterinarians attending the AVMA Annual Convention in July will have an opportunity to comment on the KPMG LLP Megastudy and veterinary economic issues during an open forum hosted by the National Commission on Veterinary Economic Issues (NCVEI).
The NCVEI National Forum on Veterinary Economic Issues is the first in a series of meetings for veterinarians to talk about the Megastudy's conclusions, and to suggest strategies and opportunities for the profession to meet the needs of society better. Allied organizations and industry representatives will also share their perspectives. Roundtable discussions will address the most critical issues identified in the study.
"The national forum is a listening session to get input from all segments of the profession, from all parts of the country," said NCVEI board member, Dr. Daryl Buss, dean of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine.
Comments from the meeting will serve as a resource for the commission in its mission to improve the economic health and quality of the profession, which will ultimately benefit human and animal health. The forum will be held July 24 from 1 pm to 4:30 pm at the Salt Palace Convention Center, Room 254.
