Antimicrobial resistance conference slated

A conference on antimicrobial resistance will be held at the Westin Fairfax Hotel, Washington, DC, on May 4-5, 2000. Jointly organized by The Royal Society of Medicine Foundation, Illinois, and The Royal Society of Medicine, London, the conference is also sponsored by the Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston.

The program goal is to enlarge and increase the educational knowledge and expertise of the participants in the fields of antimicrobial resistance, viral infection, transfer of resistance, growth promoters, and antimicrobial resistance gene research. The sessions include current perspectives, international considerations, resistance, the plant/animal/human interface, prescriptions - how and why, and the research and development response.
