Mastitis foundation invites research grant applications

At the National Mastitis Council's 40th annual meeting this February in Reno, Nev (see page 1077), Dr. Keith Sterner, Ionia, Mich, reported that the National Mastitis Research Foundation is establishing the J. Woodrow Pankey Mastitis Research Fund in memory of Pankey, PhD, a renowned pioneer in mastitis research who died last year.

The foundation will award its second research grant in Jacksonville, Fla, at the 2002 NMC annual meeting. Applications for the $7,500 grant are due by July 1, 2001. Dr. Sterner also reported that the auction held in Reno to benefit the foundation raised $7,500.
