 Women veterinarians seek nominees for recognition

The Association for Women Veterinarians is requesting nominations for two awards to be given at their 2001 annual meeting, to be held during the AVMA Annual Convention in Boston.

Nomination for the Outstanding Woman Veterinarian of the Year, recognizing professional accomplishments in any area of veterinary medicine, is open to any woman graduate of an accredited veterinary school. Nomination for the Distinguished Service Award, recognizing contributions to advance and improve the status of women in veterinary medicine, is open to any individual, veterinarian or non-veterinarian, regardless of gender.

An individual, professional organization, or institution may make nominations. Nomination packets must include name, address, and phone number of the nominee; the award for which the nomination is made; the nominee's professional activity; and the school and year of graduation of the nominee. They may also include a list of professional, scientific, or service organizations of which the nominee is a member, including offices held or committee assignments; a list of honors and awards, publications, or other relevant activities and a biographic sketch, including educational background.
