Dr. Coates (MSU '61), 67, Rogers, Ark, died Oct 22, 1999. After graduation he practiced in Palos Park, Ill, for several years. From 1975-1985 he owned a small animal practice in Justice, Ill. He was a meat inspector for the USDA from 1987-1996. Dr. Coates served in the Army during the Korean War. Dr. Davis (COL '82), 44, Sheridan, Calif, died Sept 4, 1999. She was veterinarian in charge of the Sacramento district office of the California Department of Food and Agriculture. Dr. Davis had served as their veterinary medical officer in veterinary laboratory services from 1986-1988, and afterward in the animal health branch. Dr. Davis was instrumental in setting up California's large animal state disaster evacuation program, which will continue, memorialized, in her name. Dr. Davis was a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. Her husband, Dr. David C. Davis (CAL '74), is owner of the Summer Hills Veterinary Hospital, Citrus Heights, Calif. Memorial contributions may be made to the Equine Sciences Research Program at Colorado State University.

Dr. Huston (AUB '39), 83, Collins, Miss, died Nov 6, 1999. He owned a mixed practice. A member of the Mississippi VMA, Dr. Huston served as president in 1950. He served as a first lieutenant in the Army Veterinary Corps during World War II. His father, Dr. B.T. Huston, was a practitioner who graduated from Ontario Veterinary College in 1893.

Dr. Ketchum (MO '51), 80, Sun City, Ariz, died Nov 20, 1999. He owned Catalina Veterinary Center, a small animal practice in Phoenix, and retired in 1986. Before that, he had practiced in Tucson, Ariz, and Linneus, Mo. Dr. Ketchum served in the Navy during World War II. ||Clifford S. Munns|
Dr. Munns (CAL '62), 66, Oakley, Calif, died Nov 14, 1999. After he spent the early part of his career practicing at Providence Veterinary Hospital in Alameda, Calif, Dr. Munns built three practices in California over the next 21 years, one in Antioch and two in Oakley. An early proponent of computerized practice, he lectured about the use of computers in veterinary medicine at the Western Veterinary Conference. He was a member of the California VMA and Contra Costa County VMA. Dr. Munns was in the Signal Corps in Japan during the Korean War. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Dr. Poggi (COR '62), 61, Pleasant Valley, NY, died Nov 21, 1999. He owned Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital, a small animal practice. Dr. Rains (KSU '78 ), 50, Kansas City, Mo, died Dec 7, 1999. He was technical services manager for Hoechst Roussel. Dr. Rains was past president of the Society for Theriogenology and a diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists. For many years, Dr. Rains was editor of the Journal of Theriogenology. After graduation, he practiced in Carroll, Iowa from 1978-1986. From 1986-1989 he was an assistant professor at the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Rains was also a member of Academy of Veterinary Consultants, Iowa VMA, Kansas VMA, and AAEP. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nebraska VMA Foundation Scholarship Fund, PO Box 2118, Hastings, NE 68902; Gashland Presbyterian Church, 8029 N Orak, Kansas City, MO 64118; or Young Life, 5209½ N Antioch Road, Kansas City, MO 64119.
