In an effort to explore areas of common interest, the AVMA Executive Board has approved a meeting of the AVMA leadership with Mexican veterinary leadership. One area of common interest may include veterinary school/college accreditation and approval.

Mexican educator Dr. Franscisco Trigo contacted the AVMA and proposed this meeting to include a variety of issues that affect veterinarians in both countries. Because international trade is increasing and cooperation is implied in a number of trade agreements, discussions with the Mexican community may be beneficial.

The meeting should be scheduled in Mexico for early spring 2001.
