 Chicago VMA recognizes three veterinarians

The Chicago VMA recognized three veterinarians with awards during its annual meeting, Dec. 13, 2017.

Dr. Gail Golab (Illinois ’91) received the President’s Service Award in recognition of service and dedication to shaping the future of veterinary medicine. Dr. Golab is the AVMA chief veterinary officer, and she heads the AVMA’s Public Policy Strategic Business Unit, which encompasses the Animal Welfare Division and Division of Animal and Public Health.

Dr. Sandra Faeh (Illinois ’96) received the Merit Award for contributions to the advancement of the CVMA. She has served as president of the CVMA and the Illinois State VMA, and she is the Illinois delegate in the AVMA House of Delegates. She practices at Elmhurst Animal Care Center in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Dr. Richard Rossman (Illinois ’69) received the CVMA Lifetime Service Award. He is a past president and treasurer of the CVMA. He also is the medical director and founder of Glen Oak Dog and Cat Hospital in Glenview, Illinois. Previously, he served as a captain in the Army.
