Tufts at Tech Community Veterinary Clinic is a unique small animal hospital operating at a trade school where fourth-year veterinary students from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University gain valuable clinical experience in a primary care practice. Working with veterinary assisting program students, they have provided low-cost veterinary care to underserved cats and dogs for four years.
The AVMA and American Academy of Pediatrics adopted a joint statement, “The Value of Professional Collaboration in Protecting the Health of People and Animals,” on Nov. 3 in honor of the inaugural One Health Day. The statement outlines potential opportunities for collaboration that would benefit patients, families, and communities.
The Department of Agriculture offered awards totaling nearly $4.4 million to 48 veterinarians toward repayment of veterinary student loans. Recipients must commit to three years of service in a designated veterinary shortage area in food animal practice or public practice.
Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies, has appointed Dr. Sean J. Callanan as dean. He has over 25 years of experience in research and veterinary education.
