Fourteen editors-in-chief have led the Journal, including Dr. Alexandre F. Liautard, who took the helm at its inception in 1876 when it was called the American Veterinary Review. Since becoming the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association in 1915, it has flourished under these brilliant scientists with a knack for words.
