20th Anniversary National Vet Tech Week

Oct. 13-19, 2013

National Veterinary Technician Week solidifies the commitment every veterinary technician gives to the professions of veterinary technology, veterinary assisting, and veterinary medicine.

This year’s theme is “Your Trusted Partner in Lifelong Care.”

National Veterinary Technician Week has been an annual tradition since June 1993 when NAVTA, then known as the North American Veterinary Technician Association, passed a resolution declaring the observance the third week each October. Celebratory efforts have included a variety of activities.

Clinics and animal hospitals are encouraged to educate the public by advertising the week with posters, available through NAVTA—now the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America—and to personally thank veterinary technicians for everything they do. The week is sponsored by NAVTA, Partners for Healthy Pets, the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians, and Hill’s Pet Nutrition.
