Garnn O. Anderson

Dr. Anderson (ISU '43), 91, Cloverdale, Calif., died Nov. 19, 2011. He founded Cloverdale Animal Clinic and practiced mixed animal medicine prior to retirement in 2005. Earlier in his career, Dr. Anderson practiced in South Dakota and Minnesota; served as a state veterinarian in Siskiyou County, Calif.; and worked in Santa Rosa, Calif. Dr. Anderson was an honorary member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners. His wife, Ruth; two daughters; and three sons survive him. Memorials with checks made out to Children's Foundation (memo line of the check to say "in memory of Dr. G.O. Charles S. Baker

Dr. Baker (UP '44), 90, Barnegat, N.J., died Oct. 3, 2011. He worked for the state of Pennsylvania from 1975-1988. Prior to that, Dr. Baker was in mixed animal practice for more than 30 years in Center Square, Pa. His wife, Jeanne; a daughter; and a son survive him.

Robert C. Colladay

Dr. Colladay (UP '60), 76, Mountain Top, Pa., died Oct. 17, 2011. Prior to retirement, he owned Mountain Top Animal Hospital, a small animal practice. Earlier in his career, Dr. Colladay practiced in New Jersey. He was a veteran of the Air Force, attaining the rank of captain. Dr. Colladay's two sons survive him. David B. Hammond

Dr. Hammond (COR '65), 71, Amenia, N.Y., died Sept. 26, 2011. A mixed animal practitioner, he owned Village Animal Hospital in Mabbetsville, N.Y. Dr. Hammond was also a dairy farmer, and he bred Holstein cattle. He was a member of the Eastern New York Holstein Club, Hudson Valley Fresh dairy cooperative, and Smithfield Valley Association. Nedrick L. Price

Dr. Price (KSU '65), 75, Kansas City, Mo., died Sept. 30, 2011. Prior to retirement in 1999, he practiced small animal medicine in Junction City, Kan. Dr. Price helped establish the humane society in Junction City. His wife, Kathleen; a son; and four daughters survive him. Memorials may be made to Geary Community Hospital Foundation, P.O. Bernard Wasserman

Dr. Wasserman (MSU '51), 91, Brooklyn Heights, N.Y., died Nov. 11, 2011. A small animal practitioner, he owned Heights Veterinary Hospital in Brooklyn until 1985. After that, Dr. Wasserman practiced part time at the hospital through the 1990s. Early in his career, he served as a professor at the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Wasserman authored "The Dog Who Met the Queen and Other Stories" and co-wrote a weekly column called "The Vets on Pets" for the New York Herald Tribune in the 1950s. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Dr. Wasserman's two sons survive him. Memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Church Street Station, P.O. Richard W. Winters Sr.

Dr. Winters (TEX '44), 89, Brady, Texas, died Oct. 3, 2011. During his career, he owned a practice in Weatherford, Texas; worked as southeastern field representative for Lederle Laboratories in New Orleans; and ranched and practiced large animal medicine in Brady. Dr. Winters was a past member of the Texas Animal Health Commission, representing the exotic livestock and fowl industry. His son and daughter survive him.

Ben York Jr.

Dr. York (CAL '55), 87, Alpine, Calif., died Oct. 19, 2011. He owned York's Animal Clinic in Brawley, Calif., practicing mixed animal medicine for more than 30 years. Dr. York was a past member of the California Veterinary Medical Board and a member of the California and San Diego County VMAs. At one time, he served on the California VMA board of governors. He was also active with the Backcountry Horsemen of California, Imperial County Sheriff's Posse, Pacific Crest Trail Association, and Rotary Club. Dr. York served in the Army during World War II. His two daughters and a son survive him.
