Voting rights granted to AAVMC member of education council
|Posted Sept. 1, 2010|
The AVMA House of Delegates July 30 approved an amendment to the AVMA Bylaws that grants voting rights to the liaison member of the AVMA Council on Education appointed by the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges.
The AVMA-AAVMC Joint Committee recommended the bylaws change, which the COE supported because the AAVMC representative on the council participates fully in council business, functions as a regular member on accreditation site visits, and often has served as a site-team chair.
The AVMA Executive Board approved initiating the bylaws change during its April meeting and submitted the proposal to the House of Delegates. The House Advisory Committee and Reference Committee 3 recommended delegates approve the amendment.
