Event: 10th annual clinical nutrition and research symposium, June 9, Anaheim, Calif.
Program: The conference featured abstracts and poster presentations on nutrition research conducted at 10 institutions. Dr. Roger A. Clemens of the University of Southern California's School of Pharmacy delivered the keynote address, sharing his perspective on the similarities of food safety issues for humans and companion animals.
Awards:AAVN/ACVN Student Nutrition Research Award, sponsored by Waltham: Dr. Angela L. Lusby, Knoxville, Tenn. A 2004 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Dr. Lusby teaches clinical nutrition at the university. She was honored for her presentation on adiponectin in lean and obese cats.
