The AVMA Executive Board approved renaming and revising the "Guidelines for Veterinarians Participating in Spay/Neuter Clinics," acting on a recommendation from the AVMA Council on Veterinary Service.

The title was previously "Guidelines for Veterinarians Participating in Ovariohysterectomy-Orchiectomy Clinics."

The board approved revising the wording of the guidelines to simplify the terminology on pain management and clarify that veterinarians should follow current standards of practice regardless of clinic type or location.
